The Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Cherry Povall and Mayoress of Wirral Mrs. Sheila Clarke, hosted a reception at Birkenhead Town Hall recently to thank those Wirral organisations who have been nominated for a King’s Award for Enterprise. The Lord-Lieutenant attended, along with Sue Higginson OBE DL and was delighted to be able to speak to some of the members of the five organisations from Wirral who have been nominated. To have been recognised and nominated for this award is an achievement in itself. The five nominated voluntary groups from Wirral are: Brighter Bebington, Dementia Together Wirral, New Ferry Community Land Trust, Shaftesbury Youth Club, and The Voice of Egremont. The results of those awarded will be announced on His Majesty The King’s birthday – 14th November 2024.
