Today, 22nd January 2025, the Lord-Lieutenant presented The King’s Award for Voluntary Service to New Ferry Community Land Trust Limited! A truly incredible group of volunteers who came together after the gas explosion in 2017 to rebuild the area and reinvigorate the community. In attendance were members of Wirral Council who had provided so much support, not only in the £500,000 grant but also in organisational support. Also the Mayor of Wirral Cllr Cherry Povall, Mayoress Sheila Clarke and two of my Deputy Lieutenants, Capt. Hugh Daglish LVO JP RN and Mrs. Sue Higginson OBE DL. Many congratulations to all involved, in particular Mark Craig, Margie Pegg and Margaret Evans.
