Marina was born in Glasgow in 1953. She is married with 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Marina was educated at Holyrood Senior Secondary in Glasgow.
Moved to Liverpool in 1977. She was a key member in helping Hillsborough families who lost their loved ones and also with the survivors. Marina received the Freedom of the City of Liverpool alongside the Hillsborough families.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 and started a charity The Marina Dalglish Appeal 2005 to say thank you to doctors and nurses and continues her fundraising.
Marina was given and MBE and Honorary Doc from Liverpool University and made a Citizen of Honour in Liverpool for her fundraising efforts.
