The Lord-Lieutenant presented The King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) to members of The Eco Therapy Garden CIC at Towerhill Primary Health and Resource Centre in Knowsley today, 27th January 2025.
This fabulous group was established four years ago to reclaim an overgrown area of land to give a valuable recreational space for members of the community, but with the added facilities of one-to-one counselling, teaching gardening skills to encourage people to grow their own food – with recipes provided – and barbecues and social get togethers which have assisted people’s mental wellbeing and combatted loneliness.
Many thanks to the Mayor of Knowsley, Cllr Ken McGlashan, Mayoress Ms Anne McGlashan, Leader of Knowsley Council, Cllr Graham Morgan and soon to be Chief Executive Officer of Knowsley Council, Mr. James Duncan for attending the event.
