On Saturday 1st February 2025 it was a beautiful morning to be at Volair in Stockbridge Village to present The King’s Award for Voluntary Service to Safari Kids Club.
This fabulous, small group, started by the Chair of Trustees Patsy Kelly and run with Pamela Richards, Kelly Nash and Marie Branch on the Board but with a few other dedicated volunteers do so much more than run a children’s Saturday club. It has expanded to provide a safe and supportive space to play and socialise, it tackles social isolation and foster social networks and mutual support.
Many thanks to the Mayor of Knowsley Cllr Ken McGlashan, Mayoress McGlashan, Leader of Knowsley Cllr Graham Morgan, Chief Executive of Knowsley Mr. James Duncan and The Rt. Hon. Annelisese Midgley MP for attending and showing your support, not only today but since the group’s inception.
Thanks also to my Deputy Lieutenants Michael Brown CBE DL and Anne Morris DL for doing the assessment and attending today for this great morning’s presentation.
