HRH The Prince of Wales visits Liverpool 8

On Thursday 23rd January 2025 HRH The Prince of Wales visited Liverpool 8.

He had heard about Cycle of Life and particularly wanted to visit them at the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre. Unfortunately the weather prevented him from cycling to the Welsh Streets, but he did also visit there, learning the history of the Liverpool Welsh community and surprising many youngsters and their parents on their way home from school! The visit finished off with a visit to the TIBER Project off Lodge Lane, meeting the Young People’s Steering Group, having a kick-about on the football pitches and a brief walkabout on Tiber Square. A freezing day, but HRH brought a warm glow to everyone he met.

Below are some pictures of members of Cycle of Life with their Founder Ibe Hayter.

His Royal Highness received an overview of the broad work of the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre, a multipurpose, multicultural building based in the heart of Toxteth, before joining the Cycle of Life project to meet young participants who will be building and maintaining bikes. The Prince then met some of those on the ‘OnTheGo’ project and viewed their entrepreneurial cargo bikes in action. Picture by Andrew Parsons / Kensington Palace
