HOBY UK receive The King’s Award for Voluntary Service.

On Monday 17th February 2025 the Lord-Lieutenant, along with the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire Lady Alexis Redmond, presented HOBY UK with their King’s Award for Voluntary Service.

This group, which works across Merseyside and Cheshire, creates workshops and seminars to inspire young people from different backgrounds to raise their aspirations and engage in positive social action in their communities.

The aims are to build their social awareness and confidence, leadership skills and encourage them to contribute to their community by volunteering.

The young people and the volunteers we met were all hugely impressive, with many young people going on to volunteer with the group as they themselves progressed through university or their working careers. A great privilege to meet them all.

Many thanks to the Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Wendy Johnson for hosting the event in her beautiful Town Hall and to the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Richard Kemp CBE for attending to lend his support.
