His Majesty The King visits Southport

On Tuesday 20th August 2024 His Majesty The King visited Southport to meet with some of the survivors of the recent incident, members of the community and emergency responders. Clearly whilst the reason behind the visit was not one which anyone would have wanted, His Majesty’s visit was warmly welcomed and appreciated by all those who met him, and those who could not be there.

My thanks to my Vice Lord-Lieutenant Dr. Ruth Hussey CB OBE, who greeted His Majesty in my absence.

Below are some pictures from outside Sefton Town Hall admiring the floral tribute, His Majesty signing the Book of Condolence, a walkabout outside the Town Hall and meeting the emergency responders in Southport Community Fire Station.

His Majesty is meeting the bereaved families today, Wednesday 21st August at Clarence House.
