Brian Wong has been a Justice of the Peace in the City of Liverpool since 1994 and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in the County of Merseyside in 2002. He served as a Board Member of the Ethnic Minority Business Forum for the Department of Trade and Industry (2004-2007) and as Vice Chairman of the North West Ethnic Minority Business Forum (2006-2007). He also served as Member of the BBC’s Advisory Council for the North West (1998-2003).
He was the founder of the Liverpool Chinatown Business Association 1993 and North West Chinese Council 1996, and continues to play an active role as Honorary Advisor.
Brian is fluent in Chinese and English and has been appointed by the Home Office as an official interpreter since 2003. He was a Trustee Board Member of the Museum of Liverpool from 2004-12. He gained his MA in Economics at the University of Manchester and lectured in Economics in local colleges for many years. He was appointed by Standard Chartered Bank (Private Banking) UK as Introducer From 2009-2010.
At present Brian Wong is Managing Director of Foho Finance Business Investment. Over the years he has acted as consultant and adviser to many cities in China, local Chinese companies and organisations, as well as housing associations, youth organisations and community bodies in the UK.
