The Merseyside Lieutenancy celebrated its 50th Anniversary Last night at HMS Eaglet.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mr. Mark Blundell, hosted a dinner at the Naval Regional Headquarters, HMS Eaglet, last night Thursday 13th June 2024 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Merseyside Lieutenancy.

Invited guests included The Honorary Recorder of Liverpool, the Deans of the two Cathedrals and representatives from the major faith groups, as well as the Vice-Chancellors of the universities, representatives of the three armed forces, Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. The Lord Mayor of Liverpool and Mayors of Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley and St. Helens were also welcome guests. All are important supporters of the Lieutenancy and the Lord-Lieutenant thanked them for the work we do together.

There were, of course, lots of current and retired Deputy Lieutenants also present plus the former Lord-Lieutenant Dame Lorna Muirhead, who made the Loyal Toast.

£2,910 was raised for charity, which will be shared equally between the Lord Mayor and Mayors of the boroughs for their chosen annual charities.
