The Lord-Lieutenant attended Wallasey Amateur Boxing Club recently for their official “groundbreaking” ceremony for the proposed new building for Wallasey ABC and Leasowe Community Hub.
The building will be dedicated to the memory of Mr. Maxi Roy for his lifetime dedication to the young people and community of Wallasey and the sport of boxing.
Thanks to Liam Hanlon DL who is the Chairman of the club. It was, as always, good to see the Mayor of Wirral Cllr Cherry Povall who undertook the groundbreaking itself, Mayoress Mrs. Sheila Clarke and to ACC Andy Ryan who also attended to speak about the benefits the club brings to the community.
